UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Coaches and players from both Penn State soccer programs will lead a free, youth soccer clinic Sunday (Jan. 13) in Holuba Hall. Donations toward a scholarship fund honoring 8-year old Mack Brady, who passed away on New Year’s Eve, will be accepted.
The event has been organized in honor of Brady, a member of the State College Celtics youth soccer team, who died unexpectedly from a bacterial infection. Mack’s parents, Christian and Elizabeth Brady of State College, have designated memorial contributions toward an athletic scholarship for a member of the Penn State men’s soccer team being established in their son’s honor. Both are members of Penn State’s administration and faculty.
The clinic, open to players between the ages of 6-12, is scheduled from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The men’s squad, under the direction of Bob Warming, captured its first Big Ten regular-season title since 2005 while placing a league-high six players on all-conference teams. The historic season resulted in Warming earning the 2012 Big Ten Coach of the Year award. The women’s program, winners of 15-consecutive Big Ten championships, posted its second-straight 20-win season and advanced to the College Cup title for the first time in program history. The Nittany Lions appearance in the championship game was just the second appearance by a Big Ten school in the national championship.
