PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based state police would like to remind motorists of Pennsylvania’s Steer Clear Law.
As a general rule, when approaching or passing an emergency response area, a motorist, unless otherwise directed by an emergency responder, should pass in a lane not adjacent to that of the emergency response area if possible. Or, if passing in a nonadjacent lane is impossible, illegal or unsafe, motorists should pass the emergency response area at a careful and prudent reduced speed reasonable for safely passing the area.
Motorists are to be aware of possible slippery roadway conditions, especially in the higher elevations since winter weather has arrived in the area.
State police would also like to remind motorists to lock their vehicles and residences. This will prevent you from becoming a victim of theft.
