UNIVERSITY PARK — Pitt freshman 141-pounder Jake Keller (Curwensville) was victorious in two of his four matches at the Nittany Lion Open in Recreation Hall Sunday.
He pinned Kent State’s Lukas Kern at the 5:58 mark before losing 9-3 to Jordan Tolbert of Campbell (N.C.).
In the consolation rounds of the 61-wrestler bracket, Keller sidelined Cleveland State’s R.J. LaBeef 13-6 and then was beaten 10-4Â by Bryan Pearsall of Penn State.
Keller owns a 9-6 record after competing in three tournaments.
