CLEARFIELD – Two people who have been accused of stealing jewelry and then selling it for money were arrested by the Clearfield Borough Police Department.
Megan Smith, 29, and Jordan Mumma, 19, both of Clearfield, are facing charges of theft, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to commit theft.
Smith and Mumma allegedly stole more than $2,000 worth of jewelry from a residence on West First Avenue. Then, they allegedly sold the jewelry to a business on River Road, police said.
Police served the warrants on Smith and Mumma at the Days Inn, where they had rented a room. Police discovered drug paraphernalia, money and jewelry in the hotel room.
Smith and Mumma were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Richard Ireland. Their bail was set at $25,000. Smith and Mumma could not post bail and were incarcerated at the Clearfield County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
