WINSLOW TOWNSHIP – Four people were flown to the Altoona Hospital after a single-vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. Monday on O’Donnell Road in Winslow Township, according to the DuBois-based state police.
Robert L. Moore Jr., 38, and his passengers, Allan D. Marshall, 59, both of Reynoldsville, and two unidentified males all sustained major injuries. No one was wearing their seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Moore was traveling northbound on O’Donnell Road in the right-hand lane north of Bohren Road. While negotiating a right-hand curve, Moore lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons.
The Moore vehicle traveled across the southbound lane and along the west berm for 54 feet. Then, it traveled down a steep embankment for 63 feet before striking a large tree and coming to a rest.
All four occupants were flown to the Altoona Regional Hospital due to the extent of their injuries. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the accident, state police said. The investigation is continuing at this time.
State police were assisted by the Reynoldsville and Sykesville ambulance companies and the Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department.
