UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State football team will be recognized and the senior squad members will participate in an autograph session prior to the Nittany Lion basketball team’s Military Appreciation Day game vs. Army on Saturday (Dec. 8).
The contest also is Penn State’s annual Toys For Tots game. Adults who bring a new, unwrapped toy get into the game for $10. Students and youth (18 and younger) who bring a new, unwrapped toy get into the game for free.
Tipoff versus the Black Knights is set for 4 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. Doors will open by 3 p.m. for the autograph session on the concourse with the Penn State football seniors, who capped an 8-4 season with a 24-21 overtime victory Nov. 24 over eventual Big Ten Champion Wisconsin.
Each player will be able to sign one item and posed photos will not be permitted in order to keep the lines of fans moving. Some of Penn State’s individual award winners and all-conference honorees also may participate in the autograph session.
At halftime, Big Ten Coach of the Year Bill O’Brien and the entire Nittany Lion football team will be lauded, with a special recognition for Penn State’s Big Ten award winners.
Any military personnel with a valid military ID can receive four free tickets to the Army game at the Bryce Jordan Ticket office, with any additional tickets available for $5.
Special pre-game and halftime ceremonies will be held to honor U.S. military personnel. Fans attending Saturday’s Military Appreciation Day game also will receive a camouflage drawstring backpack while supplies last.
Coach Patrick Chambers’ Nittany Lions (4-3) are coming off a 58-47 win over Penn and will play LaSalle at 9 p.m. today (Dec. 5) at The Palestra on NBC Sports Network and the Penn State Sports Network before hosting Army.
