CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Dec. 3.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Jason McGonigal, 26, of Coal Run Road, Osceola Mills. McGonigal is wanted for failure to appear at arraignment court Nov. 21.
On Sept. 25, Officer Michael Davidson of the DuBois City Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging McGonigal with forgery, access device fraud and theft by deception.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Davidson states that on Sept. 10, the DuBois City Police Department received a report of theft and forgery. Upon investigation it was found that McGonigal had unlawfully removed approximately $700 from the victim’s bank account. McGonigal had used the victim’s account number and signed the victim’s name in order to obtain the money. Additionally, video surveillance showed McGonigal as the person completing the transactions.
A preliminary hearing was held Nov. 2, at which time all charges were held to court. On Nov. 21, McGonigal failed to appear for arraignment court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
McGonigal is described as a Caucasian male, standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He was blue eyes and brown hair.
