Verna F. Anderson, 92, of DuBois died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at Nelson’s Golden Years.
Born Aug. 25, 1920 in Grampian, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Maude (Zortman) Flynn. She was married to George A. “Bob” Anderson. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1994.
She was a teacher’s aide for the DuBois Area School District and retired after many years of service. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She’s survived by her son, R. Shane Anderson and his wife, Cyndi of DuBois; three granddaughters, Heather Pierce, Ashley Anderson and Chelsea Anderson; and three great-grandchildren, Noah and Allivia Pierce and Jaxon Anderson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and Richard Flynn and two sisters, Alice McCartney and Ruby Wall.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church in Grampian with Fr. Mark Mastrian as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Grampian.
