Children will receive a Christmas stocking, which includes a coupon for Fun Central to be used from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. The coupon is for a free slice of pizza and soda while the children play.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, the Ritz Theater is hosting a free movie and will offer a small popcorn and soda for children.
From 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Dec. 7, the CRC kicks off a downtown holiday event that features the Taste of the Town Spirit Tour, local artist tour, Christmas caroling, the Shaw Park Santa House and the CAST Musical: Gypsy.
The goal of the CRC event is for downtown Clearfield to become the night to “Discover Clearfield” with shopping, dining, entertainment, and family activities.
Santa Claus will be at his house in Shaw Park from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Dec. 7. The Santa House will remain open until 9 p.m., so that visitors can pick up Santa’s schedule. Santa will only be home until 7 p.m.
The CRC will welcome the Christmas carols of the Clearfield High School Show Choir under the direction of Andy Rothrock. The choir will start at the Santa House at 5 p.m. and will make their way around town. If your business is open, they might stop in and sing a carol.
The CRC has partnered with the Susquehanna River Arts Center (SRAC) to offer a local artist tour within downtown businesses on Dec. 7. The CRC welcomes you to shop at these businesses and to “discover Clearfield.” You’ll be able to pick up a map at the Santa House to see the locations and times. You do not need to register to participate in this aspect of the holiday kick-off.
For the Spirit Tour, the CRC has partnered with local wineries Starr Hill Winery and Bee Kind Winery. Upon registration you’ll receive a souvenir wine glass. You can sample a taste of Clearfield wines. Each location along the tour offers complimentary food and wine samples; plus, you’ll have opportunities to shop at each of these locations.
To participate in the Spirit Tour, you must register. The early registration deadline for tickets at $15 each is through this Friday and includes an ID check/wristband, souvenir glass and walking map. After Dec. 3, tickets are $20 each.
