Margaret C. “Peggy” Wilson, 89, of Hyde died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at her home. She was born Dec. 18, 1922, the daughter of the late Orlo and Margaret A. (Quigley) Barger.
She was a 1941 graduate of the St. Francis School, where she took pride in being a high school cheerleader.
After her graduation, she was employed at the Windmill, McCrory’s 5&10 Cent Store and Kurtz Bros.
She retired to care for her family and loved being a wife, mother and Grammy. She was an avid reader and enjoyed word searches and crossword puzzles.
She was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church. She worked as a volunteer in the cafeteria of St. Francis School for many years.
She is survived by three children, Margaret “Peggy” Berry and her husband John of Clearfield; Natalie Eberle and her husband, Joe of Pittsburgh; and Hayes J. Wilson of Winston-Salem, NC; one granddaughter, Brenna Berry and a brother, Jerry Barger, of Lancaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Hayes M. Wilson, whom she married April 30, 1954 and whom died June 2, 1995; three brothers, Preston “Jim” Barger, Orlo “Bud” Barger; and an infant brother, Robert Barger; and a sister, Dorothy Barger.
Honoring Mrs. Wilson’s wishes, there will be no viewing or visitation.
A Mass of Remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PA 16833 with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
