DUBOIS – DuBois City’s 2013 tentative budget doesn’t include a property tax increase, reported City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio at Monday night’s council meeting.
Suplizio said it’s been six years since the last property tax increase. In those six years, he said DuBois City Council had even decreased property taxes. He thanked his council members and department supervisors for fighting to hold the line on the upcoming-year’s budget.
The budget projects general fund revenues in the amount of $9,573,689 and expenditures in the amount of $8,927,939. Its capital budget revenues and expenditures are both projected at $645,749.41.
The sewer fund budget’s revenue is projected at $2,515,408.69. However, it could have expenditures as high as $2,940,000. The water fund budget’s revenue is projected at $2,331,054.62 with expenditures of $2,940,000.
The preliminary highway aid fund budget’s revenue is projected at $179,602.18 with expenditures to be the same.
The council voted to move up the time of its Dec. 10 meeting. It has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. There will be a public hearing for discussion on the 2013 budget, starting at 12:45 p.m. before the meeting.
Council moved up its regular meeting as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has scheduled a public hearing over the proposed Highland Street Extension disposal injection well on Dec. 10. The public hearing conflicted with the council’s regular meeting time.
