ALTOONA – A Blair County man was arrested Sunday after police discovered more than 600 bags of heroin at his residence.
Brandon Thompkins, who investigators described as a large-scale heroin dealer, was taken into custody at his 14th Avenue residence in Altoona. Â Thompkins has only been released from jail for two months after serving seven years for drug offenses.
Authorities said the heroin discovered in Thompkins’ residence has a street value of $18,000. In addition to the drugs, police seized more than $400 in cash, four handguns and drug packaging materials.
The raid was conducted by officials with the Blair County District Attorney’s Office, Altoona police and a local Drug Task Force.
Thompkins is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 5.
