GRAMPIAN – A motorcyclist sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle mishap at 3:05 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Main and North Sixth streets in Grampian Borough, according to the Clearfield-based state police.
A motorcycle driven by Harry C. Rowles, 45, of Grampian was traveling westbound on North Sixth Street. Richard E. Muth, 40, of DuBois was traveling northbound on Main Street. Rowles was approaching the stop sign and applied his rear brake, which malfunctioned and broke a rod.
Rowles subsequently lost control of his motorcycle, as it started to go down on its left side. He got off the motorcycle, which slid out onto Main Street and into the side of the Muth vehicle. The Muth vehicle spun across the southbound lane of Main Street and struck the curb.
Rowles sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Muth was not injured.
