Thomas G. Chessie, 81, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at his home.
He was the son of the late Charles and Catherine (Banko) Chessie and born April 23, 1931 in Osceola Mills. He married Nancy J. (Jaskowak) Chessie on July 7, 1973 in Philipsburg. She survives him at home.
Mr. Chessie was of the Catholic faith. He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post #5020 in Osceola Mills.
He was retired from the Pennsylvania Fish Commission as a surveyor and was a 1949 graduate from the former Osceola Mills High School.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Chessie was preceded in death by four sisters, Ann Batcho, Mary Zavada, Helen Danley and Catherine Sutch and six brothers, Frank, Carl, Stanley, Joseph, Joseph and John Chessie.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer A. Chessie and her husband, Tim Hinkle of Osceola Mills; a sister, Elizabeth Kohr of New Cumberland; and a brother, Steve Chessie of Ohio.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with Father Robert Horgas officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard.
