Edith E. Detrio, 69, of Curwensville died Monday, Nov. 19, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital. She was born Nov. 20, 1942 in Penn Township, a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Virgie (Haag) Madera.
She was Catholic by faith.
She is survived by seven children, Judy Cressley, Brenda Paden, Kevin Hoover, Carol Malek, Velma Barclay, Susan Morrison and John Hoover; 18 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are four sisters and three brothers, Joseph A. Madera and his wife, Kristine of Asheville, NC; Marie Mullins and her husband, Merlin; Judy Kessler and her husband, Dale; Charles Madera and his wife, Vivian; Robert F. Madera and his wife, Sue; and Margie Price and her husband, Rob, all of Grampian; and Sister Ruth Ann Madera of Frenchville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Hoover and a brother, Hugh P. Madera.
In accordance with Mrs. Detrio’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Marian House, 209 Walnut St., Clearfield.
