An incident of theft occurred sometime between Nov. 10 and Thursday at the Bradford Cemetery in Bradford Township. Someone removed a flag holder that belonged to a Clearfield man. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Clearfield-based state police at 814-857-3800.
A 30-year-old DuBois man, Michael Whitmore, has been arrested for seven burglaries that occurred between Oct. 16 and Oct. 18 throughout Clearfield County. These burglaries occurred at the Down River Restaurant, the Curwensville Lake Camp Store; the Karthaus Gas Station; Tibbens Auto Body and Towing; Adam’s Golden Grille; Butch’s 101 Pitt Stop; and the Grampian Car Wash. In addition, a 25-year-old Curwensville woman, Rebecca Carfley, has been arrested in connection with the burglaries at the Down River Restaurant; Adam’s Golden Grill; Butch’s 101 Pitt Stop; and the Grampian Car Wash. All but one preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail. In the Grampian Car Wash case, Whitmore has already waived his right to a preliminary hearing. However, Carfley’s hearing hasn’t yet been scheduled in that case.
