CLEARFIELD – Novey Recycling Inc. of Clearfield surprised 12 veterans on Veterans Day. Customers were greeted with “Happy Veterans Day” and then asked if they were a veteran.
Twelve customers produced some form of military identification. They were rewarded with a T-shirt or hat, as well as a $50 gift certificate for Novey’s U-PULL-IT Auto Salvage.

“This is the second consecutive year that we have done something like this. We try to stay actively involved in the community,” said Novey Recycling Operations Manager Mike Boal. “And, It was Veterans Day.
“. . . I didn’t have any idea how many shirts, hats, and gift certificates we might end up giving out. It ended up being twice as many as last year. We were simply giving something back to the men and women who have defended our constitution and freedom, knowing they may lose their life by doing so. “
