LoCastro, who had served as the agency’s Chief Operating Officer, assumed her new duties Sept. 26. On that date, former Executive Director Hugh A. Daly retired after 12 years of service. Daly will continue to serve the CPCA Inc. on a part-time basis as an advisor to the board of directors through January of 2013.
LoCastro began her career with CPCA Inc. in September of 2004. She was initially a deputy director with the agency. She was promoted to chief operating officer in 2011. LoCastro came to CPCA Inc. from the Kennedy-Donovan Center of New Bedford, MA, where she had served as an assistant director.
LoCastro, a native of Hollidaysburg, is a 1994 graduate of the Penn State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies. She also earned a Master’s degree in public administration from Bridgewater State College in January of 2005.
LoCastro has become the fifth executive director to lead CPCA Inc. since its inception as part of the War on Poverty in 1967. CPCA Inc. is a private non-profit, anti-poverty agency serving Clearfield and Centre counties. The agency’s mission is “Strengthening communities in Centre and Clearfield counties by helping families and individuals to become self-sufficient.” The agency’s motto is “Helping People, Changing Lives.”
