Agnes V. Kolosky, 83 of Cleveland, OH died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Barbara F. (Rusnak) Vavreck born Nov. 29, 1928.
She’s survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Stephen J. Kolosky, whom she wed July, 18.1953.
Mrs. Kolosky was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Cleveland, OH and Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg.
She was employed with Tops Supermarkets in Cleveland, OH.
Mrs. Kolosky was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She enjoyed baking, collecting antiques and spending time and working with her family at the Kolosky family homestead in (Cold Stream) Philipsburg.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kolosky was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Kushner and Josephine Vavreck; an infant sister, Anne; and a brother, Joseph Vavreck.
Along with her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Anastasia Ting and her husband, Adam of East Sandwich, MA and Monica Flesher and her husband, Timothy of Auburn, OH and two sons, Jerome Kolosky and his wife, Cynthia of Medina, OH and Jeffrey Kolosky and his wife, Charlene of Delaware, OH.
Also surviving are four sisters, Barbara “Bert” Sedlak of Everson; Marie Tarbay of Philipsburg; Bernadette Johnson of Houtzdale; and Sr. Barbara Ann Vavreck of Erie; three brothers, Martin “Marty” Vavreck and his wife, Joanne of Westerville, OH; Andrew “Andy” Vavreck and his wife, Margaret of Lake Mary, FL; and Benedict “Ben” Vavreck and his wife, Betty of Hawk Run; 13 grandchildren, Katherine, Kristine, Karen, Karissa, Sarah, Amanda, Aaron, Justin, Michael, Angela, Jennifer, Brandom and Julianne; one great-granddaughter, Sadie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg, with the Rev. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant. Burial will be at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Philipsburg.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.
The Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
