Helen Louise Musser, 87, of South Philipsburg died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at the Altoona Regional Health System.
Born May 7, 1925 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Berish) Pavelek. On June 29, 1946 in Philipsburg, she married Robert Warren Musser, who died May 20, 1990.
She is survived by a son, Glenn R. Musser of Apopka, FL; a daughter-in-law, Sharon K. Musser of Philipsburg; five grandchildren, Jodi Walsh, Erica Musser, Aaron Musser, Stephanie Murphy and Brian Musser; and a great-granddaughter, Avery Grace.
Mrs.Musser was the last of her generation.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Rodney G. Musser; a daughter-in-law, Laura V. Musser; three brothers, Joseph, Andrew “Doc” and George Pavelek; and two sisters, Martha Ponish and Mary Ritondo.
She was a 1943 graduate of Philipsburg High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg. She was a former member of the Philipsburg Hospital Auxiliary.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 400 S. Fourth St., Philipsburg with Fr. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant.
Burial will follow at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery, Philipsburg.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the church.
A vigil will be held at 6 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., both Wednesday at the funeral home.
