UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — After a week-long delay due to Hurricane Sandy, the Penn State men’s basketball team hosted its annual Media Day Monday (Nov. 5) afternoon at the Bryce Jordan Center. Head Coach Patrick Chambers, his staff and the team met with the media prior to practice.
Nearly 40 media members attended the event in which Chambers covered topics ranging from senior Tim Frazier’s (Houston, Texas) leadership, the addition of redshirt sophomore D.J. Newbill (Philadelphia, Pa.) to the back court, as well as his post players Jon Graham (Baltimore, Md.) and Sasa Borovnjak (Belgrade, Serbia). Following the press conference with Chambers, Frazier, redshirt junior Jermaine Marshall (Etters, Pa.) and Newbill met with the media before an open media session with the entire team and staff in South Gym, the Nittany Lions’ practice facility.
The Penn State men’s basketball team opens the 2012-13 season on Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. against Saint Francis. The game will be streamed live on the Big Ten Network. The game at the Jordan Center will be the first Dollar Dog Night of the season. Admission is free for all Penn State freshman students and all students have a chance to enter to win an iPad.
