SANDY TOWNSHIP – Three people sustained severe injuries and were transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – East after a single-vehicle accident Wednesday on Wayne Road, according to Sandy Township police.
A 49-year-old Luthersburg woman lost control of her vehicle while traveling on Wayne Road, which caused it to fishtail, spin around and impact an embankment head-on. Then, it become airborne after which it landed on its wheels before drifting backward across the roadway and coming to rest.
The woman and her front seat passenger were both ejected from the vehicle. The backseat passenger was injured; however, this person wasn’t ejected, police said.
