A 20-year-old Curwensville woman, Misti A. Bruner, sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 10:15 a.m. Thursday along the Chestnut Grove Highway in Bloom Township. Bruner was traveling northbound and rounding a right-hand curve in the roadway. She lost control of her vehicle on the wet roadway at which point it started sliding off the east berm into a yard. Then, it traveled 72 feet east through the yard before the front passenger’s side struck a large tree. The Bruner vehicle came to a rest in the yard; it was facing northward approximately four feet north of the tree. Bruner was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. Police were assisted at the scene by the Grampian Volunteer Fire Department.
An incident of burglary occurred sometime between 9:30 a.m. Oct. 25 and 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at camps along Manor and Porcupine Ridge roads in Polk Township. Someone entered two camps by applying force to their doors. Once inside the suspect(s) removed various items, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, a water cooler, tools and a clay pigeon thrower. A hit-and-run accident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. Oct. 27 on Smithtown Road in Washington Township. An eastbound vehicle traveled off the south berm and into a Falls Creek man’s yard. The motorist impacted hedges, steps, a mailbox, decorative lighting and a bird bath. Debris then struck the man’s pick-up truck, which was parked in the driveway. The motorist fled the scene and traveled northbound on Smithtown Road. The vehicle should have extensive, front end and or undercarriage damage.
