Ethel M. Straw, 89, of West Decatur died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at Clearfield Hospital.
Born May 10, 1923 in Spring Valley, Boggs Township, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Martha Woods.
On March 9, 1940 in Woodland, she married Bernard D. “Pep” Straw, who died Oct. 9, 2001
She’s survived by one daughter and two sons, Joyce Thompson and her husband, Dallas and Dennis Straw and his wife, Gladys and Gary Straw and his wife, Deborah, all of West Decatur.
Surviving are one sister and four brothers, Ima Jean Visnofsky and her husband Edward, of Clearfield; Jack Woods and his wife, Lena; Burton Woods; and Ellsworth Woods, all of West Decatur; and Richard Woods of Bellefonte.
She’s also survived by seven grandchildren, Robyn Thompson; Dal Thompson and his wife, Lisa; Denise Dobo; Deborah Wallace and her husband, Geano; Darryl Straw and his wife, Elizabeth; Betsy Hemphill and her husband, Tom; Renee Schwartz and her husband, Frank; eight great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a daughter, Kimberly Ann Straw and a sister,

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, West Decatur.
She was a homemaker and also worked for Navasky’s.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 12 p.m. until the hour of services Friday at the funeral home.
