EDWARDSVILLE — Senior wide receiver Jarrin Campman (Clearfield) recorded his fourth two-touchdown game of the season for Lycoming (6-2) in a 38-7 Middle Atlantic Conference romp over host Wilkes (4-4) in front of 800 fans at Schmitt Stadium Saturday afternoon.
He turned a short pass from sophomore quarterback Tyler Jenny (Coalport/Glendale High School) into a 26-yard TD for the go-ahead TD with seven minutes left in the second quarter and ran a fly pattern to haul in a 25-yarder early in the third quarter that put the Warriors up 28-7.
Campman totaled 66 yards for four receptions and returned four punts for 57 yards.
Freshman Corey Knepp (Bigler/Clearfield Area High School) saw action on the offensive line for the Warriors, who are tied for second place in the MAC at 6-1.
Jenny was named to the weekly MAC Honor Roll after completing 17 of 26 passes for a career-high 239 yards and three touchdowns. He was 12-for-15 for 169 yards and two scores in the first half.
Junior kicker Zack Czap (Philipsburg) earned MAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the sixth time in his career by booting five extra points and a season-long 37-yard field goal and averaging 29 yards on three punts.
Campman is Lycoming’s leading scorer with 66 points on 11 touchdowns, one a punt return, as well as the No. 1 receiver with 33 catches for 473 yards and No. 1 punt returner with a 17.36 average for 14 runbacks.
NCAA Division III statistics show him seventh in punt return average and tied for 50th in scoring with an average of 8.25 points a game.
Jenny has hit 125 of 203 passes (61.6 %) for 1390 yards and 15 TDs with only three interceptions. He has 1,504 yards in total offense, a 188.0 average that ranks third in the MAC. He’s fourth in the conference with a 173.8 average for passing yards per game.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Senior kicking specialist Parker Herrington (Clearfield) established a new career-high with 12 points in freezing temperatures at Falcon Stadium Friday Night as Air Force (5-3) won its first meeting with Mountain West Conference newcomer Nevada (6-3) 48-31.
Herrington matched his season-high with a 45-yard field goal in the first quarter and tacked on a 20-yarder in the fourth period to bookend the five Falcon touchdowns after which he converted the extra points.
A crowd of 24,277 braved the cold weather to see the Falcons gain a share of second place in the MWC at 4-1, a half-game behind nationally-ranked Boise State.
Herrington is second on the team in scoring with 46 points on three field goals ands 37 PATs that have extended his two-year streak to 61 in a row.

HIRAM, Ohio — Senior cornerback David Kalgren (Curwensville) was involved in only one tackle but came up with his fifth interception of the season and broke up another Hiram (0-8) aerial to help Oberlin (3-5) hold the hosts to 89 yards in a 39-0 victory with 324 fans looking on under the Henry Field lights Saturday night.
The North Coast Athletic Conference shutout was only the second for Oberlin since 1982. Kalgren also had a pick in the other one, a 42-0 win over Kenyon in the 2011 opener.
Kalgren fielded six Hiram punts, returning four for 10 yards.
His 133 interception return yards rank seventh in NCAA Division III. He’s tied for 16th with the five picks that give him a share of the NCAC top spot.
Kalgren, who has a pair of pick-sixes, numbers 25 solo stops among his 33 tackles and has averaged 8.93 yards for 15 punt runbacks and 17.14 yards for seven kickoff returns.

CALIFORNIA — Redshirt freshman free safety Derek Morgan (Clearfield) made his fourth start and contributed four solo stops and one assist as Slippery Rock (5-4) shook up the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division chase with a 28-26 upset of No. 12-ranked California (7-2) that quieted a crowd of 2,354 in Adamson Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Rock, 4-2 in the conference after its third consecutive win, dumped the Vulcans into a tie with Indiana and Mercyhurst, all at 5-1.
Morgan sports 34 tackles, including 19 solo stops, and three pass break-ups for the season.

LOCK HAVEN — Redshirt junior wide receiver Jesse Hoover (Curwensville) caught two passes for 16 yards while freshman running back Beau Swales (Clearfield) carried six times for nine yards and, gained seven yards on one pass reception and registered one tackle assist on a kickoff in Lock Haven’s tough 13-7 loss to Gannon Saturday night.
The turnout of 1,723 hoping to see the Bald Eagles snap their NCAA Division II-record 50-game losing streak in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division clash instead departed Hubert Jack Stadium disappointed because the hosts couldn’t cash two trips into the red zone in the second half and misfired on two field goal attempts.
A pair of three-pointers made the difference for Gannon (2-7, 1-5 PSAC-West).
Hoover, who has started seven games, is second among Lock Haven (0-9, 0-6) receivers with 221 yards on 14 receptions. His three touchdowns and 18 points lead the team.
Swales has netted 78 yards for 36 rushes, gained nine yards on two pass receptions and returned two kickoffs 34 yards.

INDIANA — Freshman running back Alex Holland (Curwensville) gained two yards on his lone carry and played on special teams as once-beaten Indiana University of Pennsylvania shut out Clarion 45-0 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.
A crowd of 2,930 at Miller Stadium saw the Crimson Hawks live up to their No. 16 ranking in the American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II Poll with their eight win and move into a tie atop the PSAC Western Division with California and Mercyhurst at 5-1.
Freshman longsnapper Eric White (Clearfield) assisted on a tackle for the Clarion (4-5, 2-4 PSAC-West) punt unit.

PITTSBURGH — Redshirt junior center Nick Redden (Clearfield) and his offensive unit teammates had two second-half drives stall in the red zone, resulting in field goals, and Duquesne (5-3) came up short in a comeback attempt against visiting Monmouth (4-4) Saturday afternoon.
The Dukes couldn’t quite overcome an early two-touchdown deficit in a 28-27 loss that not only ended a 10-game winning streak at Rooney Field in front of 1,897 fans but also dropped them two games behind Albany in the Northeast Conference race.
Duquesne, 3-2 in the conference, will make the short trip to Joe Walton Stadium in Moon Township Saturday to take on Robert Morris (2-6, 1-4) in a 3:30 p.m. NEC-TV game that will be aired on ROOT Sports Pittsburgh, Fox College Sports and ESPN3.
