Peggy V. Chittester, 88, of DuBois died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at the home of her son, Mick Chittester.
Born March 12, 1924 in Hopewell, VA, she was the daughter of Ray and Nancy Cowherd. In 1943, she married William D. Chittester. He survives.
Mrs. Chittester was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the DuBois Country Club. She enjoyed golfing.
She’s survived by her two children, Jeri Kost and her husband, Eric of Perrysburg, OH and William “Mick” Chittester and his wife, Sharon of DuBois; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren “Bud” and William Cowherd.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Zilhaver and her son, the Rev. Mick Chittester officiating.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
