Harold Randall “Randy” Vaughn, 54 of Punxsutawney died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at his residence.
Born Dec. 31, 1957 in Philipsburg, he was the son of Harold E. Vaughn, who survives and the late Jennie Mae (Goss) Vaughn.
He was last employed as a diesel mechanic at Krise Bus Co. and previously employed by Laidlaw Bus Co.
Mr. Vaughn touched many lives, including those of his family, co-workers and school bus students. His life journey led him to helping all people as much as he could and wherever he could. His passion was cars and the mechanics of them.
He was a 25-year cancer survivor of Hodgkin’s disease and was taken by lung cancer.
He’s survived by his beloved wife, Patti Vaughn of Punxsutawney; his son Eric Alan Vaughn; and siblings Marjorie Pearl Knepp, Brenda Marie Hohman, Donna Joyce Swartz and Timothy Mark Vaughn.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc. in Houtzdale.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Punxsutawney Sportsmen’s Park, Woodland Avenue Extension, Punxsutawney, near Gobbler’s Knob with Pastor James Walker officiating.
