DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Board of Supervisors voted to approve publically revealing the complete 2013 budget at its meeting Monday night. The board expects to vote on its budget at the Dec. 5 meeting.
The township’s figures did not change from the previous review:
- Liquid Fuel Fund: $952,140
- Mountain Run Turn Back: $1,100,500
- General Fund: $3,780,300
- Municipal Authority: $2,441,500
The municipal authority’s figures were further broken down into sewer, $1,769,000 and water, $672,500.
Tentatively, there aren’t any changes to the township’s property taxes. The general fund is currently 12.5 mills. Fire protection is 2.5 mills. The library is .5 mills.
Township Manager Dick Castonguay recommended that the millage be left as is for now pending two future events. One would be how much the township’s health care costs will increase. That is still unknown, he said.
He said the second is the announcement from the state’s Public Utility Commission about how much each community will be receiving from Marcellus impact fees. According to Castonguay, Sandy Township will be receiving $84,619.50.
Castonguay suggested that when the township receives the money, it should drop the general fund millage to 12.0 mills.
