CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Oct. 15.
He identified the fugitive as Nathanial Kimberling, 20, of Olive Avenue, DuBois. Kimberling is wanted in two, separate cases for failure to appear at plea and sentencing court Oct. 9.
On Feb. 27, Officer D. Scott Johnson of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint, charging Kimberling theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Johnson states that on Feb. 15 the Sandy Township Police Department received a report about a theft of jewelry from a residence in Treasure Lake. Upon investigation it was found that Kimberling had unlawfully removed approximately $2,600 worth of jewelry from the victim’s residence.
A preliminary hearing was held March 23, at which time all charges were held to court.
In a separate case, Officer Stephen Bilunka of the Sandy Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint on July 2, charging Kimberling with fleeing or attempting to elude police officer; driving under the influence of alcohol; recklessly endangering another person; corruption of minors; possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked; reckless driving; stop signs and yield signs; driving on roadways laned for traffic; and driving vehicle at safe speed.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Bilunka states that on July 1 while on routine patrol, officers were advised of a vehicle that was involved in a complaint of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Officers located the vehicle, and the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed.
While in pursuit of the vehicle, officers observed the vehicle driving erratically and swerving on Industrial Drive in Sandy Township. Upon successfully stopping the vehicle, the driver was taken into custody, and Kimberling showed signs of impairment.
Also present in the vehicle were two passengers under the age of 18 years of age. Kimberling was taken into custody and transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for blood testing.
A preliminary hearing was held July 6, at which time all charges were held to court.
On Oct. 9, Kimberling failed to appear for both cases at plea and sentencing court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
