BELLEFONTE – Centre County officials told WJAC-TV on Wednesday that Jerry Sandusky has been placed on suicide watch in solitary confinement just 24 hours after a judge sentenced him to serve 30-60 years in a state prison.
County Administrator Tim Boyde said the court costs, security and other expenses connected to Sandusky’s case currently stand at $95,000 and didn’t include Tuesday’s sentencing.
Pennsylvania’s public employee pension system has moved to revoke Sandusky’s pension after his conviction and sentence in the child sexual abuse scandal.
The State Employees’ Retirement System notified Sandusky by letter Wednesday that his crimes triggered forfeiture of his pension.
Sandusky’s lawyer said ahead of the notification that Sandusky would fight any attempt to revoke his pension.
