Police, Clearfield County Emergency Management and the Clearfield County Career and Technology Center conducted a surprise drill at the CCCTC. The drill event simulated an incident with several armed gunmen. The Lawrence and Sandy Township, Clearfield and Curwensville Borough, DuBois City and Morris-Cooper police departments participated in the drill alongside Clearfield Ambulance and local fire departments. Police said the drill was successful and presented the opportunity for these professionals to hone their skills and to train for such incidences.
Police are investigating the theft of a Garman GPS Unit and prescription pills from a vehicle parked on Wrigley Street. The investigation is ongoing; anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police.
Police were contacted regarding the ownership of a trailer in Hyde. The caller was advised they would need the copy of the registration, and this is classified as a civil matter. Police told the caller it could be handled by obtaining legal counsel.
An incident of criminal mischief occurred at the Crown Crest Cemetery, where a suspect was fleeing Curwensville Borough police. The suspect was apprehended by police. Lawrence Township police met with the Curwensville Borough police and the cemetery owner and staff. Charges are being filed in this incident.
Police received new information regarding a burglary incident from last October. The investigation is continuing at this time with new interviews being scheduled.
A suspicious male was reported in Long Meadow; however, police couldn’t locate the male.
An illegal dumping was reported at location along state Route 879. Police have obtained a vehicle description; the incident is under investigation.
An incident of harassment and disorderly conduct occurred at a local business. Police advised all parties to cease contact.
A suspicious male was reportedly searching through garbage; however, police checked the area and couldn’t locate the male.
A traffic hazard was reported to police, where a small piece of metal was lying on the roadway. Police removed the object from the roadway.
A possible phone scam was reported to police.
An incident of disorderly conduct occurred at the Clearfield Mall. Two people were yelling at each other in the mall and its parking lot. One male will be cited for the incident.
An incident of trespassing and criminal mischief was reported to police, which located individuals in the area. However, they were engaging in lawful activities.
