PHILIPSBURG – A 30-year-old State College woman, Kristina E. McKenna, sustained major injuries after a two-vehicle accident at 4:45 p.m. Friday on South Centre Street in Philipsburg.
McKenna was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment of injuries. She was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to the Philipsburg-based state police.
McKenna was traveling southbound on Centre Street at which point she failed to stop behind a mini-van operated by Russell E. Krineski, 38, of Clearfield. She subsequently rear-ended the Krineski mini-van, pushing it approximately 20 feet ahead. Both vehicles came to a rest in the northbound lane with the front of the McKenna vehicle pinned underneath the rear of the Krineski minivan.
McKenna sustained major injuries in the accident. Krineski wasn’t injured; however, his passenger, Sabrina L. Krineski, 39, of Clearfield was transported to the Altoona Regional Trauma Center for medical treatment for precautionary reasons. Both Russell and Sabrina Krineski were wearing their seatbelts.
McKenna will be cited for driving vehicle at a safe speed.
