An incident of theft occurred between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sept. 26 along Dahoga Road in Jones Township. Someone removed money from a 95-year-old Wilcox woman’s purse. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Ridgway-based state police at 814-776-6136.
No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 8:05 p.m. Friday along the Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road in Ridgway Township. A 17-year-old Penn Yan, NY boy was traveling southbound when he fell asleep. His vehicle traveled off the east berm and struck a utility pole. The boy will be cited for careless driving.
A commercial vehicle accident occurred at 9:50 a.m. Friday on U.S. Route 219 in Horton Township. The vehicle was traveling southbound when a deer entered the roadway via the west berm. Its driver veered leftward to avoid impact with the deer and then overcorrected rightward. At that point, the vehicle crossed both lanes of travel and struck the guiderail along the east berm of U.S. Route 219. One driver’s side door opened and product fell onto the roadway and over an embankment. PennDOT has been notified about the damaged guiderail.
A commercial vehicle accident occurred at 2:37 p.m. Friday on the Million Dollar Highway in Fox Township. The commercial vehicle was traveling northbound in the left-hand lane when a vehicle traveling ahead abruptly stopped for a left-hand turn. The driver applied their brakes but lost control on the wet roadway, and the vehicle traveled off the east berm. There, it struck a utility pole.
