Dolores M. Johnson Price, 76, of Big Run and formerly of DuBois and Grampian, died Monday Sept. 24, 2012 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Born March 10, 1936 in Clearfield, she was the daughter of Patrick H. and Mary E. (Wolstencroft) Kelly. Mrs. Price was a homemaker and had worked at the Curwensville Public Library. She was a member of the Smithtown Community Church in Falls Creek,
In addition, she was a member of the Susquehanna Antique Machinery Association, the Bilger’s Rocks Association, the Grampian American legion Auxiliary, the Grampian Women’s Club, the Penn Grange and the Grampian-Penn-Bloom Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former member of the Grace Lutheran Church, where she had taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Johnson on Jan. 28, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, David L. Calhoun Jr. and Roy Allen Calhoun; three sisters, Louise Wheeler, Kathleen Dush and Margaret Toot; and four brothers, Ardell, Jack, Jerry and Joseph Kelly. She was the last member of her generation.
Surviving are her husband, Maurice “Spike” Price of Big Run; eight children, Michael J. Calhoun of Oklahoma, Peaches Kurten and John P. Calhoun, both of DuBois, Susan M. DeStephano of Rhode Island, Evelyn K. Calhoun and Rose M. Campbell, both of Clearfield, Beverly A. Fustine of Brockway and Colleen G. Mayhew of Curwensville, 33 grandchildren, 30-plus great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson.
At the request of Mrs. Price, there will be no public visitation.
Memorial funeral services for Mrs. Price will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Smithtown Community Church in Falls Creek, with the Rev. Harold Hills officiating. Burial will be in the Friends Cemetery Grampian.
