BRADFORD TOWNSHIP – Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at 3:35 p.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. Route 322 and Rock Lane in Bradford Township, according to the Clearfield-based state police.
Wanda Jean Rothrock, 61, of Woodland was stopped in the westbound lane to negotiate a left-hand turn onto Rock Lane. At that time, a truck-tractor operated by Maddie Jene Podvin, 53, of North Branch, MI was traveling westbound and didn’t observe the stopped Rothrock vehicle.
The Podvin truck-tractor failed to stop and rear-ended the Rothrock vehicle. The Rothrock vehicle traveled off the north berm, striking a sign and then a tree. It came to a rest along the north berm, facing west. The Podvin truck-tractor came to a rest in the westbound lane a short distance from the impact point.
Rothrock sustained minor injuries in the accident. Podvin wasn’t injured. Both were wearing their seatbelts. Rothrock’s vehicle sustained major damage; the Podvin truck-tractor had moderate damage.
Podvin was cited for safe speeds through the district court in Kylertown.
