Marjorie Ann Palumbo Burkett, 79, of Tyrone died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at the Altoona Regional Health Care System.
Born Dec. 15, 1932 in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Margaret (Punchious) Palumbo. On April 20, 1956, she married John C. Burkett Sr. He survives.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed canning and knitting.
She is survived by four children, John Burkett Jr. and his wife, Deb of Luthersburg; Melinda Lucas and her husband, Michael of Houtzdale; Matthew Burkett and his wife, Gayle of Baltimore, OH; and Mary Treece and her husband, Brian of Saltsburg.
Also surviving are two sisters, Theresa Hinderliter of New Columbia and Patricia Sebring of California; three brothers, John “Tom” Palumbo and LeRoy “Joe” Palumbo, both of DuBois and Theodore Palumbo of Reynoldsville; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Adeline Naugel.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Bish officiating. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
