PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP – A 23-year-old DuBois man, Jesse L. Anders sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Presbyterian Hospital for treatment after a single-vehicle accident at 8:01 p.m. Monday on Interstate 80 in Pine Creek Township, according to the DuBois-based state police.
Anders was rounding a gradual, left-hand turn and exited the roadway via the north berm. His vehicle continued north in a westerly direction across the shoulder, where it then traveled up an embankment. It traveled a short distance until it impacted a tree and became airborne.
The Anders vehicle began to rotate in a clockwise direction once airborne. It traveled approximately 25 feet through the air before touching down and overturning onto its driver’s side in a counterclockwise direction and onto some logs. It rebounded off the logs and overturned clockwise, coming to a rest in the upright position on its wheels and facing north atop the bank.
Ander was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
