Joy Ann Rickard, 76, of Olanta died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born March 29, 1936 in Curwensville, she was the daughter of Arthur and Violet (Craddock) Winters. Mrs. Rickard was a homemaker.
Mrs. Rickard was an avid reader and especially enjoyed historical romances. She loved “Gone with the Wind” and had an extensive collection of memorabilia
On Dec. 12, 1952 in Clearfield, she wed Luther Deuwain Rickard Jr., who survives along with three sons and four daughters, Terry Lee Rickard, L. Deuwain Rickard III and his wife, Debbie and Cathy Howe, all of Curwensville, Charlotte Irvine and her husband, Lynn of York, Julie Rickard of Clearfield, Debbie Mull and her husband, Mike of Osceola Mills and Jim Rickard and his wife, Sherry of Hyde.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson, a brother and two sisters, Arthur Winters and Twila Briskar, both of Curwensville and Lily Tornatore of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Ray Winters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rickard will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with Pastor Richard Steuernagle, officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery, Turkey Hill, Olanta.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
