CENTRE COUNTY – There has been more discussion about the potential closing of the Philipsburg-based state police barracks.
It will be further discussed during a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School auditorium.
Officials said state police are facing severe funding issues and there is a shortage of nearly 500 troopers in Pennsylvania.
The president of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association will be at the meeting to discuss the impact the current staff shortage has had on the state’s public safety.
