HYDE – An attempted burglary occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. Monday at the Hyde Uni-Mart Convenience Store, according to the Clearfield-based state police.
Someone cut a padlock to the electric room at the Uni-Mart store. After gaining access, they turned off the breakers before continuing behind the business and cutting the telephone and water lines. The suspect then damaged a front window to the business with a blunt instrument.
The suspect never gained physical entrance to the Uni-Mart store and fled the scene. Total estimated damage is $1,310, state police said. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
