CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its first-ever media auction Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Clearfield campus of Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.
Chamber Director Holly Bloom said 12 different media and advertising outlets have donated packages to be auctioned off at the event. She said some packages include The Progress, GantDaily.com and wOKw, 102.9-FM.
In addition, she said Starr Hill Winery will provide customized business labels for six wines that will be sold at the winery. She said the auction will include Graham Signs and many others.
According to her, the auction is focused on helping Chamber members obtain their 2013 advertising at a reduced cost. She said it’s one of the benefits of becoming a member of the Chamber.
“Some of the donated packages are valued at more than $1,000,” she said. “The starting bids will be 10 percent of the value, so our members can get their 2013 advertising at a much reduced cost.”
Bloom said she was presented with the media auction idea from another Chamber of Commerce.
“I spoke with its director about the details and she was so helpful in explaining how it can not only help our members, but also the Chamber as well,” Bloom said.
The cost to attend the media auction is free for Chamber members and a $10 fee for non-members.
Bloom said flyers and mailers will be sent to the Chamber members and be placed at local businesses to spread the word about the event.
