Philipsburg Elementary students paid tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks on the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11 with a moment of silence and poetry reading.
The prominent American flag in front of the school’s entrance was lowered to half-staff, and third and fourth grade students read aloud “September 11” by Roger Robincheau.
Just after arriving at school, the students were escorted by their teachers and formed a circle around the flag and remained silent as they remembered the 1,000s who lost their lives during the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
