PORT ALLEGHANY – An electrical fire caused $150,000 worth of damage to a family residence located at 402 E. Arnold Avenue, at 11:54 p.m. Saturday in Port Alleghany, according to the Ridgway-based state police.
The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Port Alleghany Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire damaged a two-story, wooden frame residence belonging to Wayne J. Homell of Port Alleghany.
The fire originated on the first floor; it was electrical in nature, state police said. No one was at home at the time of the fire. However, the family’s dog was fatally injured.
Damage is estimated at $150,000, state police said.
