CENTRE COUNTY – A 24-year-old Lewistown woman has been jailed after allegedly selling heroin to undercover state troopers who subsequently seized 138 bags of heroin, cash and drug paraphernalia from her vehicle.
Martina Lea Molek, 24, of Lewistown faces charges for delivery of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of heroin. She was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Thomas Jordan. Her bail was set at $25,000 and she was placed in the Centre County Jail.
On Tuesday, the Pennsylvania State Police Troop G Vice and Narcotic Unit developed information regarding people who were traveling from the State College area to Philadelphia to purchase heroin for resale in Centre County. State police arranged a controlled purchase of heroin from Molek.
Further, state police purchased four bags of heroin for $90 and afterward remained at the scene providing surveillance of Molek. She entered a store located along the Benner Pike and upon her exit was approached by undercover members of the state police. She was apprehended at which time her vehicle was seized as part of the drug investigation.
On Wednesday, state police applied and obtained a search warrant from Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair, Philipsburg, for the vehicle that Molek was driving. During the search, state police seized 138 bags of heroin, $694 in U.S. Currency and drug paraphernalia.
The investigation is continuing at this time; additional charges are currently pending against Molek, state police said.
