TYRONE — The Clearfield Area High School’s girl’s tennis team was back in action on Wednesday afternoon in a Mountain League match-up at Tyrone.
Tyrone turned back the Lady Bison 7-0 to drop Clearfield to 0-3 on the young season.
Singles Results:
1. Yesh Patel (clfd) lost to Ana Holland (t) 0-6, 0-6.
2.Lauren Witmer (clfd) lost to Keturah Weaver (t) 0-6, 0-6.
3. Megan Vanderburgh (clfd) lost to Jordan McCormack (t) 0-6, 1-6.
4. Rayanna Kavelak (clfd) lost to Olivia Gailey(t) 0-6, 0-6.
5. Abbi Welker (clfd) lost in to Marlena Wagner (t) 0-6, 0-6.
Doubles Results:
1. Patel/Witmer (clfd) lost in a pro set match to McCormick/ (t) 1-8.
2. Kavelak/Welker (clfd) lost in a proset match to Paige Padula/Abbi Crider (t) 5-8.
Clearfield will face District 9 kingpin Elk County Catholic in St. Marys on Thursday and will host their first home match in three years on September 5 against Huntingdon.
