Wasco Temchack Jr., 86, of Smithmill died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born Dec. 28, 1925, a son of the late Wasco and Catherine (Leciew) Temchack. He was a parishioner of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Smithmill.
Mr. Temchack served in the U.S. Army as a private with the 259th Infantry Regiment in World War II. Â
He worked as a track man for the Pennsylvania Railroad. He also worked at the Chicago Rivet and Machine Co. of Tyrone and as a coal miner.
He’s survived by three brothers and a sister, Frank Temchack and his wife, Lois of Viola; Stanley Temchack of Ashland, OH; Vladimere Temchack of Smithmill and Arlene Fulmer and her husband,  Norman of Detroit, MI and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers, Estella Chencharick, Helen Chencharick, Marie Negri, Anna Temchack, Madilene Taber, John Temchack and Metro Temchack.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Friday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Fr. Paul Bigelow officiating.  Burial will follow in St.Vladimir’s Ukrainian Cemetery Ramey, with military honors being accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard. Condolences may be sent to:
