Abigail Rose (Hertlein) Green, 20, of Karthaus went to be with her Lord, safely in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 following a car accident. She was the wife of Ryan E. Green of Woodland, whom she married Aug. 11.
Mrs. Green was born March 14, 1992 in State College and was the daughter of Glenn R. and Deborah (Kirkwood) Hertlein of Karthaus.
She was a graduate of the Clearfield Alliance Christian School in the class of 2010 and a second-year student at Lock Haven University in the School of Nursing, Clearfield.
She was a member of the Community Alliance Church, Karthaus, where she volunteered with the children and programs of the church. She loved spending time with her husband, Ryan. She enjoyed music, playing piano and children.
Mrs. Green was survived by her husband and parents; her sister, Rachel A. Hertlein; her maternal grandmother, Louise Gardner of Bells Landing; and father-in-law, Ron Green and mother-in-law, Martha (Irwin) Green, both of Woodland.
Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Frank Hertlein and Don and Louise Kirkwood, all of Karthaus, Scott and Sherry Gardner of Grampian, Tim and Chris Hertlein of Drifting and Lee and Beverly Hertlein, Eva Jane Hertlein, Edith Hertlein, Patsy Kimble, all of Frenchville; the Community Alliance Church family; her best friends, Hillary Yarger and Lindsey Lefort; numerous cousins and other close friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Ivy Hertlein and Frances “Bud” Gardner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Community Alliance Church, with the Rev. Dr. Duane A. White and Pastor Dan Beeman co-officiating.
Burial will be held in the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery, Karthaus.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield and from 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Children Ministries of the Community Alliance Church, 34136 Frenchville-Karthaus Hwy., Karthaus, PA 16945.
