ROSE TOWNSHIP — An Ohio man and his passenger, a 1-month-old girl, were killed in a two-vehicle collision at 9 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. Route 322 near Snyder Road in Rose Township, Jefferson County.
Anthony J. Turner, 27, of Zanesville lost control while driving at a high speed and heading eastbound on U.S. Route 322. As he swerved to compensate, his Honda Civic collided with a sports utility vehicle heading westbound.
Turner and the infant were pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County coroner. Turner was wearing a seatbelt; the infant was in a proper child safety seat.
Two people who were occupants of the SUV were transported to Brookville Hospital for treatment.
