Geraldine B. “Deanie” Jaskowak, 93 of Osceola Mills died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College.
Mrs. Jaskowak was born March 17, 1919 to the late Freeman and Hazel (Airsman) Burns in Osceola Mills.
She was married to Francis J. Jaskowak on Feb. 14, 1950 in Osceola Mills; he preceded her in death May 20, 2011. She first married James Morris Richards Sr. on Sept. 4, 1943 at Parish Natchitoches, LA; he died Jan. 13, 1949.
She was a member of the Osceola Mills United Methodist Church and the Woman’s Auxiliary VFW #5020, Osceola Mills.
Mrs. Jaskowak was the owner of the former Deanie’s Flower Shop in Osceola Mills. She graduated from the former Osceola Mills High School and the former Altoona Business School.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Reiter and a brother, Freeman “Bud” Burns.
Mrs Jaskowak is survived by four sons, James F. Richards and his wife, Darlene of Howard, Jerome L. Richards and his wife, Jardy of Rockledge, FL, Edward Jaskowak and his wife, Lynnette of Tyrone and Daniel Jaskowak and his wife Louise of Casper, WY; a brother, John “Jack” Burns and his wife, Ruth of Philipsburg; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Osceola Mills United Church with Pastor Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills.
