CLEARFIELD – A bridge deck replacement project will allow a Lawrence Township bridge to be removed from Clearfield County’s list of structurally deficient bridges by mid-September.
Work is scheduled to start Monday, Aug. 13, to replace decking on a state-owned bridge on Wolf Run Road (township Route 605). A detour will be in place until work is complete.
The 19-foot-long bridge was built in 1936 and is located about one-tenth of a mile from the Wolf Run Road intersection with Route 879. The structure carries about 135 vehicles per day over Wolf Run. Currently, the bridge is posted at nine tons for single vehicles and 17 tons for combinations.
A detour will be in place during the project. The detour will direct motorists to use Route 879 to access Industrial Park Road (township Route 805) before returning to Wolf Run Road.
The project is expected to be complete by mid-September. All work is weather and schedule dependent.
Drivers are reminded to follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
